Published: 16 November 2020

Energy Systems Catapult’s Practice Manager for Renewables, Ines Tunga and Transport and Infrastructure Analyst, Mo Abrahams, are presenting at this year’s virtual Ocean Energy Europe (OEE) conference on 2 December 2020.

Ocean Energy Europe is the voice of the ocean energy sector in Europe and the largest network of ocean energy professionals in the world; its annual Ocean Energy Europe Conference & Exhibition is the meeting point for the whole ocean energy sector.

Ines and Mo are presenting as the technical leads for the Structured innovation design tool for the H2020 DTOceanPlus project, which will provide advanced design tools for ocean energy systems innovation, development and deployment. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.

The project is developing and testing a software suite of advanced design tools for tidal and wave systems and is scheduled for release in mid-2021 following validation by industrial partners in the consortium. The workshop will give a general overview of the suite of tools and their capabilities, plus explain how to run them with relevant user cases.

In the session, Ines, Mo and other external speakers will cover:

  • Tools functionality and architecture
  • Technology development: assisting decision-makers
  • Technology in context: design and assessment of an array project
  • Technology innovation: identifying opportunities for improvement
