Tani Nath has 30 years’ experience working in energy, management consultancy and investment banking, most recently as a Managing Director and COO of the Commodities division at Barclays Investment Bank. With extensive experience from outside banking, Tani’s previous role led her to introduce a number of business disciplines not generally practised in the bank, for example, stakeholder participation in and proper governance of infrastructure budget and development, activity based cost analysis, and commercial project management. Tani also created and supervised global trading business between 2007 and 2011. Previous to this, between 2002 and 2007, Tani worked at BP plc in a number of roles where she was a member of the management team in each successively larger business unit.
Tani was a member of the core team advising the Regional Electricity Companies on market design and implementation until privatisation in November 1990 at Price Waterhouse Management Consultants and co-Chair of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) Commodities Steering Committee representing the commodities trading industry (banks, trading houses and energy companies) in discussion with regulators in the UK (FSA) and the US (CFTC) regarding regulation and market transparency.
Tani has a BA (Hons) degree in Mathematics from Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford.
