The Electric Vehicle Energy Taskforce made 21 proposals in January 2020 to ensure the energy system is able to accelerate the mass take-up of electric vehicles,. Energy Systems Catapult was central to analysing those proposals and recommending EVET focus on 10 high priority actions.
The UK Government consulted on bringing forward the end to the sale of new petrol and diesel cars and vans from 2040 to 2035, or earlier if a faster transition appears feasible, as well as including hybrids for the first time.
