Energy Launchpad Live: Net Zero Logistics & Transport Infrastructure

Register
  • Energy Launchpad Live: Net Zero Logistics & Transport Infrastructure returns on Thursday 23 November 2023
  • Energy Systems Catapult will be joined by experts from Royal Mail, UK Power Networks Services, KPMG, East Midlands Freeport, and more
  • The event will examine the roadblocks to Net Zero innovation in transport and logistics, and explore solutions tailored to their energy and infrastructure needs

Transportation – from HGVs to personal vehicles – accounts for 27% of emissions in the UK, making it the country’s largest greenhouse gas (GHG) emitting sector. While personal electric vehicles continue to make headlines, the focus on logistics, fleets, and industrial transportation and infrastructure has been comparatively limited.

Energy Launchpad Live: Net Zero Logistics & Transport Infrastructure returns on Thursday 23 November 2023, bringing together SMEs, innovators, and logistics and fleet operators to turn the spotlight on the roadblocks they have identified on their path to Net Zero. The event promises to unpack such challenges – including the financial, knowledge, and innovation barriers – to find collaborative, industry-specific solutions.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from two panels comprised of innovators and industry experts.

Innovators, Voltempo, Conigital, Flexible Power Systems, and Dynamon will share SME-specific insights into business planning and what they can offer complex infrastructure sites and fleet operators as they transition to a decarbonised future. The panellists will share their views on the practical changes they need to see to effectively support operators and owners to overcome the hurdles they face on the road to Net Zero.

The second panel will bring together KPMG, Royal Mail, Oxfordshire County Council, UK Power Networks Services, and East Midlands Freeport. The panellists will explore how they are working with industry partners and collaborators to meet their ambitious climate targets, and dive into the detail of their Net Zero plans to see where the perceived information gaps are and how SMEs can play a role in supporting their ambitions.

The ultimate aim of the event is to bring together the brightest and the best from across the transport and associated infrastructure industries to find opportunities for collaboration on the sector’s most pressing challenges. The event will afford an opportunity for SMEs, innovators, consultants, operators, and fleet to learn from others in their respective sectors and find common ground on which to collaborate on innovative solutions to decarbonising fleets and associated infrastructure.

Lowri Williams, Practice Manager – Transport, at Energy Systems Catapult, said: “Electrifying commercial transport solutions and their associated infrastructure will not be easy. It requires a coming together of minds from fleet operators, charge point providers, networks, consultants, and SMEs, to find solutions that will work on a case-by-case basis.

“Energy Launchpad Live is a collaborative event where everyone – SME to FTSE 250 – can bring the challenges they face on the road to decarbonisation and find partners and solutions that can make Net Zero a reality. We will not reach Net Zero in a vacuum, it requires knowledge sharing, cross-sector dialogue, and innovation.

“Come along, bring your challenges, bring your solutions. There will be someone on the panel and/or in the audience facing similar challenges or looking for your solution.”

Energy Launchpad Live: Net Zero Logistics & Transport Infrastructure will be held at x+why Foundry, Birmingham on Thursday 23 November 2023, 2pm-6pm.
