This year Catapult energy experts will return to the stage once again, sharing the latest practical experience and lessons learned from Net Zero projects across communities, places and sites.

Chris Brierley, our Senior Stakeholder & Impact Advisor, will be hosting a keynote presentation on Wednesday 20 November covering Carbon, cost and community: The place-based solution to Net Zero.

The race to Net Zero is far from straight forward with no magic bullet – but the landscape is awash with reports and information.  In his talk, Chris will explore the challenge of reducing carbon, the cost of doing it or not doing it and the leadership needed from grassroots to politicians to enable a smoother transition.

Local Area Energy Plans can be an effective way to plan detailed, place based whole energy systems and delivery of Net Zero, informing wider local planning, Regional Energy System Planning, and identifying project pipelines and investment priorities. This roundtable will share learning from what has been delivered to date, the challenges and how to commission your LAEP to ensure most value locally.
