Energy Systems Catapult are co-hosting an event with Innovate UK Business Growth and the British Business Bank as part of British Finance week.

With a host of free nationwide and regional in-person events, webinars and more, Business Finance Week helps smaller businesses learn about the different finance options available to them to support their individual needs.

Whether an established business or looking to grow, finding information and guidance around finance can be complex and challenging for smaller businesses. Business Finance Week has been designed to help these businesses, as well as the organisations and people that support them, to understand the different finance options available to support their individual business needs.

This event will cover:

  • the importance of funding and finance;
  • the sources of finance and their expectations;
  • seeking finance for innovation – what’s needed and how to prepare;
  • effective use of funding received to grow your business.

This live event will take place at the Energy Systems Catapult’s office in central Birmingham.

Speakers

With 25 years in the energy sector, Paul’s experience in clean energy and the energy transition allows him to focus on his passions of innovator support and international collaborations towards Net Zero. Over the last three years, he has established Energy Systems Catapult’s accelerator (Energy Launchpad) and the International team – helping numerous UK cleantech start-ups commercialise whilst growing a portfolio of impactful international projects.

Julie Pauley has spent most of her career helping hundreds of SMEs to access a range of funded business support programmes. Whilst working as a Business Adviser she supported all aspects of business planning and, as an Innovation Adviser for various companies she has helped businesses with their innovation grant applications. Julie has also run her own business support consultancy supporting numerous small to medium companies to engage with large corporates.

Stephanie is a senior innovation and growth advisor, specialising in investment readiness support for high growth SMEs. Stephanie delivers investment readiness training programmes, and pitch panels, and works closely with leaders of innovation-driven businesses in support of their funding and finance goals. Stephanie is an experienced business advisor and has a proven track record of supporting ambitious businesses to develop winning commercial strategies, become investment ready, and secure funding and finance.
