Innovating to Net Zero: Digitalisation

Published: 4 May 2020

As part of the Innovating to Net Zero project, Energy Systems Catapult has conducted a series of Deep Dives into areas of the sector that require innovation.

Our latest report “Digitalisation for Net Zero” explores the role of data and digitalisation in achieving Net Zero by 2050.

Please join us for a virtual presentation and live Q&A on our latest report.

Digitalisation for Net Zero

Data and digitalisation enable the energy transition by supporting the integration of different technology solutions and enabling flows of information between system participants. This can range from informing decision making at an individual level to informing planning of investments on a local or national level to supporting better regulation.

As an independent and not for profit organisation, Energy Systems Catapult is agnostic towards technologies and solution providers. We want to enable the greatest digitalisation benefit to organisations.

In this webinar, we’ll highlight some real-world case studies developed by innovators and highlight the opportunities from bringing these from small scale or isolated innovation projects into day to day use.

Attendees will learn:

  • How digital technology and data can help us to achieve net zero
  • How organisations have successfully introduced digital and data technologies into the energy system
  • How the Energy Digital Fitness Assessment can help organisations to prioritise their digitalisation roadmap

During the webinar, we will also introduce our new Energy Digital Fitness Assessment; this provides a comprehensive framework for measuring digital readiness akin to technology readiness levels, building on the Energy Data Taskforce Recommendations and following the Energy Data Best Practice Guidance.

Following the webinar, there will be a Q&A to explore and debate further.
