A significant driver of carbon emissions and energy use within the UK is from heating and cooling systems used in both commercial and domestic applications. The Catapult consulted with industry to identify the innovation landscape for developing smart heating and cooling technologies and consolidated that into our latest landscape.
Over 140 companies have been identified in this crucial sector, mapped into 14 subsectors.
Including: Heat-as-a-service, comfort-as-a-service, heating control, solar thermal, biomass and heat pumps, heat storage, ventilation, building fabric improvements, retrofit tools, whole solution providers, district heating and cooling, development & support, hardware, software, innovative cooling technologies.
