This privacy notice (the “Privacy Notice”) applies to the personal information processing activities carried out by us in relation to the WMCA Survey: Skills, Jobs and Recruitment Challenges.
This policy (together with our terms of use) sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us (“data”), will be processed by us. By taking part in this survey, you are accepting and consenting to the practices described in this policy.
For the purposes of the Data Protection Act 2018 (the “Act”), we are the Data Controller in relation to the hosting of this survey.
Why are we collecting your data?
You are invited to take part in this survey because your views as a stakeholder in the green skills sector are important. The purpose of this survey is to:
- Gather insights on current and future skills needs across the green economy
- Understand recruitment challenges and workforce gaps
- Inform regional planning, policy development, and investment decisions
- Support the West Midlands Combined Authority in developing skills strategies
Your responses will help ensure that regional investment in skills delivers meaningful economic and social benefits.
What information we collect
The survey asks you to provide information about your organisation and workforce needs. This may include:
- Your role, organisation type, and sector
- Views on skills requirements and workforce challenges
- Recruitment experiences and future workforce planning
Contact details (for validation purposes only):
- Name, job title, organisation, and email address
You are not required to answer any questions you are uncomfortable with.
Survey responses will be analysed and reported in an anonymised and aggregated format. Your contact details will not be used as part of the analysis.
Lawful basis for processing
We process your personal data under the following lawful basis under UK GDPR:
- Legitimate interests – to carry out research and analysis to support regional skills planning, and to ensure the integrity and quality of survey responses
Voluntary participation
Participation in this survey is entirely voluntary. You have the right to:
- Skip any question you do not wish to answer
- Withdraw from the survey at any time
Choosing not to participate will not have any impact on your organisation or relationship with us.
Who will have access to your data?
Your data is handled securely, and access is limited to authorised personnel:
- Project team members responsible for delivering and analysing the survey
We do not sell your data to any third parties.
How long we keep your data
- Contact details used for validation: up to 2 months after survey closure
- Survey responses containing personal identifiers: deleted or anonymised once no longer required
- Anonymised survey data: may be retained for longer for research and reporting purposes
All data is securely stored, and systems and access controls are in place to protect your information.
International transfers
Your data will not be transferred outside of the UK or EEA.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct any inaccuracies
- Request deletion of your personal data where applicable
- Object to processing
- Restrict processing in certain circumstances
