The findings from Innovating to Net Zero 2026 are based on analysis using our ESME and ESME Flex models. The interactive dashboard below shows some of the key charts behind this, allowing you to explore the data within the chart in more detail:
-
Consumption: annual electricity consumption (TWh) 2030-2040 by sector for our ITNZ 2026 scenarios.
-
Generation: electricity generation capacity (GW) by technology for our ITNZ 2026 scenarios.
-
Dispatch: electricity generation and demand over specific time periods: typical winter and summer weeks, and peak gap periods for 2030 and 2040 for our Further Offshore Wind and Steady Transition scenarios.
-
Hydrogen storage: net flows of hydrogen storage in summer, winter and the Peak Duration Gap in 2030 and 2040 for each of our ITNZ 2026 scenarios.
