Gain evidence and insights by exploring datasets from innovation projects across the whole energy system
Open data is crucial for innovation that will accelerate the energy system to Net Zero
Data is the single biggest enabler of a decarbonised, decentralised and digitised energy future. It’s the tool that will bridge the gap between where we are now versus where we need to be – to achieve Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050.
Data is essential to optimising the value of assets and infrastructure, driving innovative services, better understanding risks, increasing system resilience, and driving us towards Net Zero carbon and decentralisation at best value to consumers.
The Energy Data Taskforce, commissioned by Government, and run by Energy Systems Catapult found that the creation of a ‘Modern, Digitalised Energy System’ is being hindered by valuable data often being restricted or hard to find.
We’ve created our Data Platform with the aim of making as much of our data (as possible) open to innovators to help them develop new products, services and business models that will drive the UK towards Net Zero.
What we offer
Access our Data Platform for data sets from a range of Energy Systems Catapult innovation projects delivered in homes, locally and nationally.
Our Data Platform
Access every available dataset from a range of Energy Systems Catapult projects to help innovators gain evidence and insights across homes, transport, industry, communities and the whole energy system.
Living Lab trial data
Access almost 40 datasets from our Living Lab test environment over two winters, including home details, sensor data (eg. temp. humidity, etc..), resident heating schedules and heat targets and weather.
Consumers, Vehicles and Energy Integration trial data
Access datasets from the UK’s largest, 3-year trial on consumer behaviour and attitudes towards electric vehicles and smart charging.
Local Energy Asset Representation data
Access datasets from cities, towns, industrial clusters and rural councils, each a visualisation of the local energy systems, including data on: energy assets, buildings, geography and fuel poverty.
Modern Energy Partners - site decarbonisation
Dataset of costs to purchase and install technologies for decarbonising campus-style sites such as hospitals, prisons and military bases across the public sector estate.
UK Electricity & Gas Consumption Data
Access datasets of combined electricity and gas consumption from across the UK broken down by small geographies areas called Lower Layer Super Output Areas (LSOA).
Access our Data Platform
