Expert, independent and technology-agnostic, we are uniquely placed to help define options for a future energy system
Co-developing the design of the future Net Zero energy system
Dynamic Energy System Architecting (DESA) is a method for government, regulators, academia and industry to co-develop the future energy system in a way that the physical, informational, operational and economic components of a system are organised and integrated.
DESA facilitates the creation of an energy systems architecture by reaching compromises between the individual requirements of stakeholders to meet the overall objectives of the whole system. This starts with high-level conceptual goals and adds detail incrementally to create an energy system design. It allows us to manage different stakeholder perspectives and to understand the implications of different design choices within an integrated, inter-operable energy system.
As an expert, independent, technology-agnostic organisation, Energy Systems Catapult is uniquely placed to help define options for a future energy system that integrates the disparate physical, digital and market systems, against the background of rapid technological and societal change.
Through a structured approach to managing risk, lowering costs and accelerating implementation, we have developed a range of capabilities and assets, expertise, tools, and methods that support the full lifespan of an integrated system solution.
Dynamic Energy System Architecting enables:
Designing the system
Designing the structure and interoperability requirements.
Describing the system
Describing the different elements with internal and external relationships.
Defining the system
Defining the rules governing a future energy system that brings together physical energy systems, market systems, information technology systems, services, and people into a coherent whole.
