24/03/22 - Inside Housing: The Retrofit Challenge Summit

Net zero targets. Building safety regulations. Increasing scrutiny from boards and supporting a COVID-19 recovery. Housing providers face unprecedented pressures on their business plans to address all of these at once.

This summit aims to equip the sector to tackle the retrofit challenge across all stages – from planning, procurement and funding through to the delivery of retrofit projects at scale. Ultimately, it will explore how to ensure the long-term health, safety and security of tenants and residents.

Rebecca Sweeney, Business Leader- Living Lab, will be speaking on a panel about the ‘Retrofit Innovation Challenge’. The retrofit industry needs to scale by a factor of 10 to meet the UK’s net zero targets. This session will explore the role of innovation in accelerating the transition to net zero. What valuable new products are coming to market that could help the housing sector decarbonise homes at pace and at scale? How can we scale up the retrofit supply chain at the pace required to produce the breadth and volume of low carbon technologies needed to decarbonise our homes?
