30/03/2022 - Utility Week Future of Heat Conference

As the industry absorbs the long-awaited Heat and Buildings Strategy, many question marks remain over the long-term plan for decarbonisation of heat in the UK. Warring advocates of electrification and hydrogen are now clear, however, that a joined-up approach will be required as well as investment in multiple technologies and innovation to drive down the cost of tackling the source of 23% of the country’s carbon emissions.

The Utility Week Future of Heat Conference will unite industry experts to address how as a unified group of stakeholders, we can drive real progress in heat decarbonisation across the UK. The event will feature expert speakers to outline the direction of travel and to define what next practical steps need to be taken over the next decade to drive real, measurable progress.

Matt Lipson, Energy Systems Catapult Business Leader for Consumer Insight will be giving a talk on ‘Innovating to ensure a fair transition to net-zero for businesses and policy makers’. Attendees will discover:

• The latest findings from the Fair Future programme
• What will they mean for the future of heat?
• Understanding vulnerable customers
